The Club provides a busy social calendar, including dances for New Year’s Eve, St. Valentine’s Day, May Ball, Halloween and Christmas. Barbecues, race
nights, whist drives and set lunches all add to the
opportunities for members to socialise away from the greens.
The Club congratulates Liz Smerdon, on her selection to the England team.
During 2010, Bob Burch received The Bowls England Certificate of Merit for Service to Bowls, as recognition of his playing career spanning 58 years at international, county and club level. The last thirty five years have been at Madeira. A well merited honour. The photograph was taken during his time as the DCIBA President in 1988/89.
On 24th September 2010, the Club
played host to the Bowls Devon
President. His team from Clubs
throughout Devon played an
Australian Police Touring side.
Each season the Ladies’ and Men’s Outdoor Captains nominate a charity for donations received during their time in office. At the end of the 2008 season, the coxswain of the Exmouth lifeboat, Tim Moxon, received the proceeds from captains Millie Powell and Chris Fox. The inshore lifeboat was brought to the Club to mark the occasion.
