Commonwealth Games 2022, Birmingham - Lawn Bowls
We have put in a bid to host visiting teams for practice sessions on our outdoor greens. Our resident Commonwealth Bronze Medallist, Sue Harriott has undertaken this task. So, we may have a chance to see some Commonwealth Teams practicing on our outdoor greens.
The lawn bowls competition action will run for nine consecutive days, commencing at Victoria Park, Royal Leamington Spa, Fri 29th July – Sat 6th August 2022.
Volunteers needed. Additionally, Bowls England are asking for volunteers to help with the preparation of the Commonwealth Competition at Leamington. If you would like to get involved and perhaps have the opportunity to see games at Leamington please contact Alistair Hollis at Bowls England. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Without stating the obvious, none of the AGMs have taken place this year and these will probably now be in the Spring 2021. Meanwhile thanks go to everyone for putting in their hard work behind the scenes and continuing with organising and planning events in these unprecedented times. It has relied on a lot of dedication and creative thinking to provide the Covid secure facilities in line with Government and EIBA guidance.
Last but not least - Outdoor Greens and Gardens.
Although the greens are now closed, they still need maintaining throughout the winter months. So, a big thank you to Martyn and Lynn Eveleigh and your willing helpers for all the work you have carried out this year and will continue to do throughout the winter to prepare for the next outdoor season.
The same goes for our award-winning gardens which this year as ever have looked spectacular. A big thank you to Joy Penberthy and your willing helpers for all the work you have done this year and will continue with throughout the winter to keep things looking just lovely.
